We have been staying at La Catalina for over 8 years. Incredibly warm, friendly and truly wonderful staff. It is the PERFECT location if golf at Playa Grande is your destination. Beautiful beaches nearby. Very low-key. Modest accommodations, yet clean. Superb breakfasts. Best meals in town. Inexpensive...in fact, really a great value. Heavenly views. Not for those who prefer all-inclusives.

The view is beautiful. I could see a panoramic view of the ocean from the room. There are wonderful swimming pools on the property as well. The restaurant was the best during our travels in the Dominican Republic.

I have just returned from a relaxing week (March 15-22, 2008) at La Catalina. From the moment of arrival I realized that Tim, the owner, had something very special here. I have had the chance to travel to a few different islands and have stayed in a number of larger, all-inclusive type hotels but I can honestly say that I much preferred the quiet, relaxed atmosphere of La Catalina. It’s hard to add anything more to the reviews that are already posted regarding the rooms, grounds, food, level of services and overall atmosphere at La Catalina - My expectations were met or exceeded in each of these categories. I will be back and have no reservations about recommending La Catalina to friends and family.
